Bringing People Together to Strengthen Our Community

Founded in 2019, the Brighter Futures Community Fund Programme was established to support worthwhile local projects that make a genuine and lasting difference to people living in the Larne area. The programme is rooted in a commitment to strengthening the local community by investing in initiatives that respond to real needs and create positive outcomes.
Through small but meaningful grants, Brighter Futures helps individuals, community groups and local organisations turn ideas into action. By supporting projects that promote wellbeing, opportunity and inclusion, the programme aims to empower local people, encourage participation, and contribute to a stronger, more connected community.
At its core, Brighter Futures is about giving local people the support they need to build a better future for Larne, together.

Making a Real Difference in the Larne Community
Since launching in 2019, the Brighter Futures Community Fund Programme has supported a wide range of local projects that improve lives across the Larne area. From small grassroots initiatives to established community groups, funding has helped turn ideas into practical action.
Every application is carefully considered to ensure funding is awarded where it can deliver a meaningful, positive impact. By keeping grants accessible and community-focused, Brighter Futures continues to support projects that strengthen connections, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for local people.
This work is made possible through the support of our funding partners, whose ongoing commitment helps ensure the programme is delivered fairly, responsibly and in the best interests of the local community.

Applying for Brighter Futures Funding
Brighter Futures operates a rolling application programme, which means eligible applicants can apply for funding throughout the year.
The programme is designed specifically to support the Larne community, and applications are therefore limited to individuals, groups and organisations based within the wider Larne Area.
The maximum grant available is £500 per application. This funding cap allows the programme to support a greater number of projects and ensures that funding is distributed as widely and fairly as possible.
However, applications requesting different amounts may also be considered based on the overall merit of the proposal. Applicants are encouraged to request only the level of funding genuinely required to deliver their project, rather than automatically applying for the maximum amount available.
